A patient Beni 69 years old from Sanwer was referred to dr Ashutosh Soni at misc Bombay hospital Indore by a gastroenterologist with upper GI bleeding. Endoscopically he tried to stop bleeding from a duodenal ulcer twice but bleeding continued.

He was taken up for surgery today in emergency. Duodenum was opened in it first part to locate the bleeder. There was an eroding ulcer on posterior wall with a active arterial blender at base.

Distal gastrectomy performed with roux n y gastrojejunostomy.

Pt was on norad support preoperatively with Hb 3gm%

Immediately after surgery he is off norad with BP of 140/90
